CONSCIOUSNESS AS PERSON’S VITAL ABILITY

The role and functions of consciousness as a person’s vital ability as well as its role in ensuring person’s main positions (public, social, and individual) and types of their connections are revealed. Three modalities of consciousness as a process, formation and ability of the given person are examined.

PERSONAL VALUES REALIZATION IN LIFE CRISIS CONDITIONS

The results of study of concordance and discordance dynamic tendencies’ in parameters of importance and accessibility of personal values as a functional mechanism of man’s life space structuring are presented. On the basis of empirical material it is shown that these tendencies reflect changes in a person’s value-meaning sphere which emerge in life crisis situation due to dangerous somatic disease. The effect of actual barriers in realization of vital activity under fulminant diseases as well as barriers in respect of person’s own life prospects originating from diseases with long-term consequences become apparen in these tendencies.

ADAPTATION OF RUSSIAN-LANGUAGE VERSION OF “THOUGHTS AND BEHAVIORAL QUESTIONNAIRE” FOR OBESE PERSONS

The adaptation of “Thoughts and Behavioral Questionnaire” by M. Cooper, G. Todd, R. Woolrich which is used for food behavior disorder diagnosis on Russian-language sample is presented. The adapted version of the questionnaire satisfying the requirements of psychometric standards is obtained. The structure of Russian-version questionnaire has been analyzed by means of factor analysis. 9-factors structure of the original describing such thoughts and behavioral patterns as: “Negative thoughts”, “Positive thoughts”, “Permissive thoughts”, “Diet”, “Overeating”, “Clothes ”, “Weight and shape”, “Food-connected behavior”, “Food usage process” has been reproduced. Cognitive and behavioral peculiarities of women suffering with food behavior disorder due to overeating (n = 66, mean weight – 87.5 kg) are revealed; the comparison with women without any problems with excess weight (n = 39, mean weight 59.0 kg) is done. The results of the conducted procedures reveal that Russian-language version of the questionnaire is valid, reliable and can be used for research purposes and in practice as well.

SCIENCE’S IMAGE DYNAMICS IN THE COURSE OF STUDENTS’ RESEARCH SKILLS DEVELOPMENT

The program of science image improvement on the basis of students’ research skills development is elaborated. Comparison of the results of experimental group (n = 123) with control group (n = 119) is carried out. The dynamics of attitude to science, readiness to research activity, interest in educational and research activity, scientist’s image is analyzed. Correlation between science’s image signs and research skills of student is shown. Significant increase of indices of science’s image in students of experimental group is marked.

GOSSIPING AS SOCIAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL PHENOMENON

Qualificational criteria of gossiping are considered. The difinition of the phenomenon as a sort of evaluative interaction is proposed. The expediency of microgroup approach to the analysis of social functions of gossiping is based. Such functions as inter-influence, informing, socialization, self-presentation, entertaining, integration are discribed.

EDUCATION AND COMPETIABILITY OF NATION: PSYCHOLOGICAL ASPECTS

The article examines psychological possibilities to increase nation competitive strength of developing such components of human capital as motivation of achievement, general, social and emotional intelligence, creativity etc. Some researches on links between psychological traits of population and economic achievements of different countries are reviewed. It is proposed to develop the human capital in this country by systematically ameliorating the educational system on bases of fundamental research that should be a national priority. In this respect the current state and the perspectives of the interaction between theory, experiment and practice in present-day psychology are considered.

CHANGING OF PSYCHOLOGICAL AND SOCIAL STATUS OF DRUG ADDICTED PERSONS IN REMISSION STATE IN THE COURSE OF GROUP ART THERAPY

The research of psychological and social status of drug addicted persons in remission state in the course of group interactive art therapy is presented. It is conducted the comparison of drug addicted persons, who took part at group art therapy (n = 27), and whose, who took part at other rehabilitation programs (n = 25). Findings indicate that group interactive art therapy is an effective method of a long-term support of drug-addicted clients.

WORK ENGAGEMENT AND PROFESSIONAL BURNOUT: CORRELATIONS’ PECULIARITIES

Correlations between work engagement and professional burnout were studied on the sample of consumer services employees (n = 107). The hypothesis that burnout and keenness on job are correlated negatively, but they can’t be reduced to the poles of one and the same scale was tested. Several types of combinations of work engagement and burnout levels were revealed, one of which combine feebly marked levels of the both phenomena. Characteristics of activity and seniority play an important role in determination of types of variables’ compatibility.

PREDICRORS AND MECHANISMS OF SELF-INJURIOUS BEHAVIOR (BY THE MATERIALS OF RESEARCHES)
