Attention Shifting, Cuddliness, Low-intensity Pleasure, Perceptual Sensitivity, and Sociability were the highest between 30 and 37 months of age. Ratings for Attention Focusing and Positive Anticipation increased from 16 to 37 months of age. The analysis of the higher-order structure of early temperament confirmed the three factor model. Negative Affect, Surgency/Extraversion, Effortful Control factors were similar across countries. The associations between temperament and behavior problems support the importance of individual differences in shaping development pathways toward adjustment or deviant outcomes.
